Living-wage employment is vital to long-term stability. Lack of education, life skills, or interpersonal skills can be barriers to transformation and successful living.
We work with shelter guests to develop a plan that will help guide them on the path to self-sufficiency.
This plan may include providing education, life skills development, and computer literacy.
Job Skills are developed through mandatory volunteer work at the Mission Thrift Store. Guests are coached on personal appearance, communication, work ethic and maintaining an attitude for success.
We maintain a list and make every effort to connect guests with local companies that are hiring for immediate employment. Guests are given help in developing resumes, filling out applications and how to ace an interview.
